Are you interested in the long-term health of Whistler’s lakes and keen on making a positive difference in the community? If so, please join us in becoming a member of the Whistler Lakes Conservation Foundation (WLCF). WLCF is a registered, not-for-profit charitable organization committed to advancing aquatic and environmental education, research and conservation activities. Anyone who has an interest in conserving and protecting Whistler’s lakes and watersheds is welcome to apply.
We work collaboratively with BC Lake Stewardship Society, Raincoast Conservation Foundation, Resort Municipality of Whistler, BC Ministry of Environment & Climate Change and others to achieve our goals in several areas: monitoring & reporting (Alpha, Nita, Alta, Lost and Green lakes), preventing the spread of invasive aquatic species, regular liaison with government agencies to address safety, environmental and regulatory issues, and promoting ‘lakefront friendly’ living and lake stewardship through webinars and workshops.
WLCF membership benefits include:
- Volunteer experiences – from field-based programs to becoming a board member or officer
- Learning about water stewardship through webinars, workshops, publications, and resources
- Networking opportunities – meet others who share similar passions in your community and beyond
- Help raise awareness about ‘lake friendly living’ and ‘how to think like a watershed’
- Monthly updates on WLCF Board business, plans and priorities
WLCF Membership is $50 (tax deductilble) for the 1st year and subsequent renewal years.
