Become a Lake Steward!

Help our community and governments understand the health of our lakes and watersheds and inform future stewardship and management actions. Learn something new, meet great people, and have some fun!

What’s Involved?

Collect water quality samples (e.g dissolved oxygen, temperature and clarity) from a designated site and take field notes to monitor changes in your lake. Hands-on training, monitoring equipment & boat provided (or use your own boat). The field season runs from April-October. Sampling is done biweekly. Each trip to collect the readings takes up to 60 minutes.

Who Should Join?

Committed individuals who are interested in the environment and want to help protect the quality of our Whistler lakes. No technical background is needed. Work with an experienced team lead and get hands-on training and ongoing support!
